FYP Tech is the technical branch of the University's oldest and most successful independent theatre organization, First Year Players. During our off-season, we provide low cost theatrical services to other CIOs and University groups.

Please review the policies and prices listed below before contacting us. If you have read this information and you have any questions, would like to rent equipment, or are seeking technical help for your production, please call or e-mail the contact person(s) listed at the bottom of the page.

• All rental decisions are at the discretion of the FYP Technical Director.
• FYP equipment must remain on-Grounds, with few exceptions. Please contact the Technical Director for more information if your event is off-Grounds.
• All prices include labor. We do not rent out our equipment unless an FYP Tech staff member will be on hand at all times. Complicated configurations may necessitate additional labor costs.
• First Year Players reserves the right to request a security deposite in the amount of $200 for equipment being used by anyone other than FYP Tech staff members.
• All rentals must be accompanied by a completed and signed contract. The contract must be signed BEFORE any equipment is delivered.
• Flexible pricing is available to fit all budgets.
• Payment is due at or before equipment is delivery. Checks should be payable to First Year Players.
• Lighting and set designs are available.
• We have production experience with the Student Activities Building (SAB), McLeod Hall, Old Cabell Hall, the Chemistry auditorium, and the Rotunda.
• Please contact us well in advance of your event (four weeks or more is preferred). FYP reserves the right to charge a LATE FEE of up to $50 for rental requests made two weeks or less before the event date.
